Guess what, animal lovers? It’s my very favourite time over at I Heart Faces again. It’s the time when they open up their monthly photo contest to include PET faces. I try to never miss this one and I even had a photo of little Chummy place in the top ten once (he got 4th place out of hundreds of entries!). That was pretty exciting.
The difficult part is always choosing the photo! I have so many photographs of so many adorable pets it is so hard to pick. I think I may be a little (overly?) emotionally attached to all my pet photos! Ha! So, I just browse through my library for a little while, trying not to play favourites with only my latest cuties, and pick one that jumps out at me as a bit unique, a little bit special, and something that is fairly “typical” of my style. This time it was this portrait of Miss Shanti sunning herself on the grass that grabbed my attention. I will always remember her session as one in which I just had so much fun. She is a darling, sweet, and funny dog and she was more than happy to have me clicking away behind my camera while she ran around having fun. I’d say this photo is very typical of the pretty and soft, yet full of life and joy, portraits I try to capture when doing “Documentary” style sessions outside and on-location.
I hope you like it.
And I hope Seth Casteel does, too, because he is this month’s judge!
(You may know Seth as the Amazing Pet Photographer who does all those super-cool underwater dog photos).
Here she is…the lovely Shanti
Now you can click on over to the I Heart Faces website and check out all the other Pet Photo Challenge entries. I’m sure there will be just a ton of cuteness!
Thanks for stopping by!
