Best Day Ever.

Back in March my sweet Poodle got sick. Really sick. She spent a week in the hospital and many more weeks, months, on i.v. antibiotics at home. Her illness caused some problems with her vision, as well. She saw double. All the time. The only way to correct this was to keep one eye closed…

She’s been through so much.

Two weeks ago, despite still being on antibiotics, she came down with a bad fever. The fear was the infection that was in her head was spreading…

We rushed her back to emergency and spent two more nights in the hospital. They got her in as soon as possible for another MRI (her fourth).

Her doctor came to the room. With a smile on his face.

The infection was finally, totally, gone.

BEST. DAY. EVER.

{The fever must have been a result of some, fairly mild, viral infection}.

She still has problems with her vision, but we are hoping her spiffy new glasses will take care of that in time…

The important thing is my little girl is better.

I just wanted to let you all know.

A huge thank-you to everyone who gave us so much support and encouragement through it all. Your positive thoughts, prayers, and kind words meant a lot.

p.s. I’ve been taking some time off from photography during all of this…obviously…and I’m excited to get back at it. Things will be a bit different coming up as I have learned, in a very real way, the importance of “family”. The changes are still in the works, but I’m excited to already have a couple of assignments coming up and I’ll be back at the Hamilton-Burlington SPCA for shelter photos next week.
